Failure to appear for sentencing

friend failed to appear for 1993 burgalry sentencing. would have received 5 years probabation. Was arrested in 2003 and extradited to N.J. for sentencing. Will he face original sentence of probation or a new sentence?

I would expect that the State would have difficulty trying a case against your friend with the passage of so many years and that the original plea bargain will be complied with. There mau be am effort to punish your friend for his failure to appear in court for the original sentencing date, some sort of contempt of court charge.
