Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey
fake id confiscated
I was arrested for underage possession of an open container. But when they arrested me, the cop took my fake id out of my wallet. What are the legal consequences for a fake id? its a Delaware drivers license. I am a 20 year old college student.

Re: fake id confiscated
There are no legal consequences if the officer decided not to charge with the forged document. Possession of a forged driver's license could result in a charge which is a fourth degree crime, punishable by up to eighteen months in prison, or a disorderly persons version of same, punishable by up to six months in jail.
