Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey
false drivers license
My 25 year old gave my 20 year old all the documents necessary to obtain a non drivers license so she would have the necessary ID to get into a club. The 25 year olds license is suspended. We have just found out that when the older one goes to get her DL reinstated the younger ones picture will show up. I have spoken to several attorney's and an investigator with the DMV trying to find out if we can do anything before the fact to make things go easier and if not what are we looking at. I have been told anywhere from some fines, to fines and loss of license, to 5years in jail. The milder punishment is what the DMV said the max is what the lawyer said. My sense was he was trying to scare me for the business. I hope you can give me some insight on what to expect. The 20 year old has a clean driving record,, no legal offenses, works full time at the same job for over two years, never a problem and she holds a valid nj drivers license. The non divers license was used only for enterence into a club.

Re: false drivers license
The truth is a combination of both sources of information. The possible maximum sentence is five years but for this degree of crime imprisonment
is rarely imposed upon a first offenderr and often a pretrial diversionary program leading to a dismissal is available for first offenders.
