Felony to misdemeanor

if I got a felony for distribution of marijuana under 5 grams could I ever get this turned into a misdemeanor? I am 24 years old with a masters degree and scared I wont be able to get a job I made this mistake when I was 18

I read I can get it expunged after 10 years but I will be 34 thats no good for me

Based upon the information that you provided, you qualify as a "young drug offender." What that means is that your waiting time is only one year, not ten. Thus it is likely that you can apply for the expungement right now, and that it will be granted.

Your message is a little unclear, but if you have not yet gone to court and been convicted of the marijuana distribution charge then yes, if you hire an experienced criminal defense lawyer, it is possible to at least try to get the charge downgraded to a lesser charge. If you have already gone to court and been convicted though, then you cannot then change everything around.
