Does settling a lawsuit constitute an admission of guilt?

In cases like this, usually there is a specific provision set in the settlement that you are not admitting any guilt.

Usually, the lawyer for someone in a fraud lawsuit would insist that the
settlement papers state very clearly that the settlement does not consititue an acknowledgement of the
conduct upon which the claim is based. Also, by definitition a settlement means that the claim which is settled is not submitted to a trier to fact to determine whether the
claim is provable.
