Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey
A friend of mine is facing a robbery charge and signed a plea deal for 5-7 years. During a court appearance, the judge asked, "what are you expecting when you come into my court next time?" My friend said, "5-7." The judge said, "no, you should expect 7. 99% of the time, I see the same people come back in here. IT is very unlikely that you will get 5." I feel as though there has got to be some type of protection or something we can do against such OBVIOUS bias towards the prosecution. Is there something that can be done here?

He can file to recuse the judge. He can also get a new attorney and try to take back the plea. 1-855-9-JEFLAW
