Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey
Fugitive charges
A friend of mine is in custody for a violation of parole in which he/she has no idea about. He/She was convicted years ago and was released. No while i custody they say he escaped from his original place of holding and now has an escape charge. What do you think would happen? What do you think should be done? What would be the sentence if convicted?

Re: Fugitive charges
Escape is a 3rd degree offense. He is facing 3-5 years assumming he is not extended term eligible. If he was on parole and escaped, most likely he will also max out on his current sentense. You need to hire an experienced criminal attorney to make sure that he is getting the best results possible.
