Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

Harrassed in 3 states: where to file?

I am a New Jersey resident who has been harassed by the same Connecticut resident in Connecticut, New Jersey and New York. If I were to press charges, where would I do so? What if I were to have a cease and desist letter written to this person; in which state should the attorney be located (if that matters)? Thanks.

If this is criminal harrassment, you should file charges in each state and/or contact the federal authorities. Such law enforcement personnel will advise you if you need an attorney as well for any related civil matter.
