Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

Harrassment

A former friend has been in a lot of

trouble lately. He has done

harrassment, criminal mischief

and other crimes and received

sentences with fines, community

service, probation and slap

jail time as well as psychiatric

evaulation.

I supplied evidence about him

harrassing a woman when

he was at a trial in town and

was a state witness.

Since then he has tried to

make it look bad for me

saying i did internet blogs

in his name and harrassed

people on a forum, which I

did not. Now he is taking me

to court for harrassment

that I supposedly did.

How can I counteract these

false charges?

Re: Harrassment

He can't charge you with harassing a different person; he can only charge you with harassing him. I would have to see the complaint against you to see exactly what the wording of the charge against you says before I can give you a definite answer about the best way to proceed. However,I would advise you to retain an attorney to represent you so you will have a better chance of winning this case. Please contact me to discuss your case in more detail. I never charge for simply talking to a person about their legal matters. Thank you.
