Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

I hired a lawyer to represent my son, In the past 6 months he has spoken to my son once, who is

over 18 but incarnated at this time. I submitted a form to the judge to have him removed from my son

case. I did pay him $1000.00 at the first visit. At this time he will not hand over any of the discovery

or anything that he has received pertaining to the case. I have been told I have to file a lawsuit

against him which I prefer not to do. Is there any other way I could handle this matter.

Thank you in advance

If you have a fee dispute with a lawyer you are entitled to file for fee arbitration in the county where the lawyer has an office. Call the Bar Association for the county in which the lawyer is located and ask for assistance and direction in filing a complaint with the county fee arbitration committee.

You need to meet with an attorney such as myself. Your approach to have an attorney removed is not correct. Please call my office to set up an appointment.

Generally, if you hire another lawyer, that lawyer would get the discovery and push forward with the case. If you are going with the public defender, then your son will need to make the application to the Court.
