Re: illegal search and memorandom rights

If this happened at the national park at Sandy Hook, then this would actually be a federal case that would be heard in the U.S. District Court, most likely at Fort Monmouth in New Jersey. As to the urination charge, that would be pretty difficult for the police to prove so I wouldn't worry about that too much. However, from what you describe, there may be a very good basis for filing a Motion To Suppress the Evidence in the marijuana possession charge. As to the DA (they're actually called the Prosecutor in New Jersey) calling you, I can't imagine why he would even do this - it just seems crazy. I am an attorney who has handled very many criminal cases in New Jersey, both state and federal, in the past. Please call me at 1-908-272-0111 to discuss this further. There is never any charge for simply calling to discuss your case. I look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely yours, Ronald Aronds, Esq.

Re: illegal search and memorandom rights

It is essential that you retain a criminal defense attorney as soon as possible--as you know. Since you have active criminal charges pending, it would be unwise to provide you with specific legal advice over the Internet, without more specific facts from you; and without looking at the statement of charges that you should have received.

Generally, while there are protections against illegal searches and seizures, the police have a great deal of latitude to search people and vehicles if they have sufficient "probable cause." Whether or not "probable cause" exists depends on the specific facts of your case.

I would be happy to discuss this in greater detail with you, if you would like to discuss retaining me as your attorney for this matter.

I strongly recommend that you consult with an attorney immediately so that you can explore your legal rights, obligations, and options. If you wish to discuss retaining my services, contact me at:
