Re: joy riding

Were they in a stolen car? Why would they run. Perhaps the driver had no driver's license?

Call me if you like.

Re: joy riding

My advice is, YES of course! I suggest you should never speak to police without an attorney when you may be a suspect. I would politely tell the police that you will be happy to speak with them AFTER you have had time to consult with an attorney. Then call an attorney ASAP.

My initial consultations are always free, so call me at 732/247/3340 to discuss the case.

Re: joy riding

It depends upon whose car they were "Joy Riding" in. Was it a stolen car? If yes, then he certainly needs a lawyer before talking to the police. Or was it one of the kid's mom or dad's car that they took from their own driveway? If that is the case, and the parent doesn't want to press criminal charges, then you probably don't need a lawyer, but I would certianly make sure that the parent whose car it was went to the police station with the kids. I am an attorney who has handled many cases similar to yours in various courts in NJ in the past. Please contact me to discuss your son's case in more detail. I never charge for simply talking to a person about their case. Thank you.
