Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

Juvenile Drug Charge

I was arrested after police officers searched my car and found a small amount of marijuana. They gave me a ticket for having it in a motor vehicle. What do i do? Everyone says to get a lawyer and plead not guilty. Is this what I should do? I am only 17. Also am i only going to go to court that one time? or again?

Re: Juvenile Drug Charge

That was some good advice you got. You could lose your DL for 2 years with that ticket. I suggest you get a lawyer ASAP. You may only need to go to court once, but I can't say for sure until I have more information.

My initial consultations are always free, so call me at 732/247/3340 to discuss your case.

Re: Juvenile Drug Charge

You do need a lawyer since you are facing potentially severe penalties from this matter. Since you are only 17 years old I don't think that any judge would let you proceed without a lawyer. Tell your parents what happened and then have them contact me. I am an expereienced criminal defense lawyer and will know what to do in your case. Thank you.
