Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey
Juvenile laws New Jersey
My son 13 years old and in the 8th grade. At baseball practice he kicked dirt on a 12 year old 7th grader. The other child then kicked / threw sand / dirt into my sons face which went into my sons eyes and throat (he swallowed some). After practice and back at school my son went aftyer the other child and pinned him against a locker with his arm under his chin. What are the legal ramifications here. At his age can he be arrested for assault and could he wind up in juvenile hall? This seems somewhat exsessive for what boys have been doing for thousands of years. Any ideas? Thanks.

Yes and he can. The world is much different from your day. Things that parents would just handle wind up in court these days. If the police contact you, I suggest you speak to an attorney before you or your child say anything!
