Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey
Juvinal assult
a 14 year old told her parents that my daughter said to her that she would kill her. An unsubstatiated lie.
Her parents went directly to the police and filed assult charges resulting in my having to take my child to the police station today for ''prosessing'' Finger prints photos etc. Of course she is traumatized. How should I respond ?

Since your daughter was processed she will likely have to go to court on the charge of Terroristic Threats. Since she is a juvenile she will be required to have a lawyer represent her, either a private lawyer that you pay for or a court appointed public defender lawyer. If she is found to have actually made this threat then she will have a juvenile record, which you don't want. You have to fight this charge. I am an attorney who has handled many cases similar to yours in various courts throughout New Jersey in the past. Please contact me to discuss your case in more detail. I never charge for simply talking to a person about their case. Thank you.
