Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

Legal Fees

How much will a criminal attorney charge for a case that deals with possession and/or distribution of an illegal substance, fugitive charges, or conspiracy charges? What is the liklihood of an attorney taking the case on as a contigency?

Re: Legal Fees

Each attorney sets his or her own legal fees after a full consultation. No fee can be quoted without a personal consultation. Attorneys cannot take criminal matters on a contingent fee basis. This advice is based purely on the little bit of information that you have given to me. There certainly may be other factors that would change my opinion. Further, no one can rely on advice from an attorney who has not been retained. Since it appears that you have not retained an attorney, you should contact an attorney (either me or someone else) to discuss your matter in more detail. Only then will you be able to rely on the advice. I will be happy to assist you. However, you need to call me at 856-546-8010. Good luck! Rob

Re: Legal Fees

Robert is correct.

I am an expert criminal trial attorney. I am a former NJ State public defender. I specialize in criminal law.

It is common that criminal lawyer requet the full retainer up front. This does not mean, that there are not exceptions. It is possible to work out a payment plan that is agreeable to both the attorney and you.

Most importantly, if you are facing a drug distribution charge there is mandatory paroile ineligibility that you may be facing. It is VERY important that you hire an attorney who specializes in CRIMINAL law. This will assure that you will get the best representation to assure the best result. (of course the facts are very important, in determining what those results will be.)

I can be reached at 201-646-9600. I am happy to givr you a free phone consultation. What I suggest: write down all your questions before you call. Sometimes its hard to remember all the questions when you are on the phone.

I look forward to further discussing this case with you.
