License Plate Law
What is the law(s) in New Jersey and in the entire United States regarding the theft of license plates? What is the fine/penalty for stealing a license plate for both fraud and non-fraud cases?

Re: License Plate Law
The theft of the license plates themselves under New Jersey law would most likely be a disorderly persons offense due to the dollar value of the plates. This has a fine of up to $1,000.00 and up to six months in jail. The display of the stolen plates on your car is a traffic offense which has a fine of up to $500.00 or up to 60 days in jail. As to the rest of the United States, each state has its own criminal and traffic laws, so I cannot list each of them here. I am an attorney who has handled many traffic and criminal cases in New Jersey in the past. I believe that I can help you in the charges you face. Please call me at 1-908-272-0111 to discuss your case and how I can help you. There is never any charge for consulting on a case with me, so call me today. Thank you.
