How long is a case open for

Person commiting fraud 10yrs ago, skipped bail was suppossed to go to jail for 18 months and didn't then the company went bankrupt. Can the person still be prosecuted, what are the consenquences.

Your question is a little confusing. If you were suppose to go to jail for 18 months, then you were convicted. You are asking if you can still be prosecuted. Those are two different things. If you were convicted then you've already been prosecuted. Either way, if you had a bail and you skipped, charger were already brought and there is not statute of limitation issue.

The real issue here is were you convicted? If so, you will still likely have to do your sentence. Worst yet, if it was a plea, the Judge can throw the plea out and sentence you to a hire sentence. On top of that, you could be facing a bail jumping charge which would be another sentence. Fun huh?

If you were not actually convicted, then I can't see how they would really prosecute you. As you can see, there are several issues going on here. I'd like speak with you to nail down these issues. My initial consultations are always free, so call me at 732/247/3340.

Once you are charged with an offense you can not benefit by becoming a fugitive from justice. If he has pled guilty he will serve his sentence whenever he is arrested.
