misdemeanor

if i plea bargain to misdemeanor theft under 500 and i was granted probation before judgement, can i get it expundged after 6 months or a year?

You need to see a lawyer as I have no idea what you are talking about. You are using terms that do not exist in NJ. If you were not convicted, you probably got PTI. Call me at 732/247/3340 to discuss.

If you plea bargain to theft under $200 you can expunge five years later, roughly.

A theft for the amount of 500 if a felony. If you were in municipal court then it was a disorderly persons offense. You would qualify to expunge your criminal record 5 yrs from the time you were discharged from probation. If you have additional question please call my office.

The law says you have to wait five years after the completion of your sentence before you can apply for an expungement.
