Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey
Mistaken Identity
Someone is going around using my name that has stolen guns. It is not me! I was called into the PD and told them all that I could (I know stupid). I do know one of the people involved but it goes back six years ago and haven't seen him since. I do not know anything about any of these crimes. There is also an investigation going on in another county where my name was mentioned. How do I prove that I am who I am and not this criminal? I am looking for lawyers as we speak.

You are wise to retain counsel ASAP. I would really need more details - which you should not post - in order to provide you with any concrete advice. Feel free to call my office if your matter is in central NJ.
Good Luck.
