murder

how do i obtain my son transcript from his murder trial , he applied for it they told him it could take up to a year is that true

Court transcripts are prepared by private court reporting companies and yes, if it was a long trial it could take up to a year for them to prepare the transcript. I assume he wants this transcript to file an appeal, and if so he must remember that he has certain time limitations for filing the proper paperwork to appeal. I assume you have a public defender. Due to the amount of cases they have, it takes some time for them to process the appeal. A private attorney could get the transcripts in about a month.
