nj simple assault charge

i was hit in the face for no reason by a person. left a a mark on me he was arrested and charged with simple assault. is there anyway i can sue him? or have him face time. witnesses were present too.

You "can" sue him. Getting an attorney to represent you may be difficult because you do not have significant damages. If its his first offense, he probably won't do any time.
