This offense is generally known as harassment and is normally a petty disorderly persons offense punishable by up to 30 days in jail and a fine of up to $500.00, unless the offender is serving a sentence, on probabtion or on parole for a criminal conviction, in which case it is a crime of the fourth degree and punishable by up to 18 months in prison.

You will probably just get a $500 fine, but the most important thing is that, if convicted, you will get a criminal record which I am sure you don't want.
