There is a strong possibility that the charges will be dismissed. If this occurred in south jersey, please contact me for a free consultation.

Being real, while a lawyer can assert the officer's conduct was improper in answering your question, I would not guarantee the charges would be dropped until I saw the arrest report or other documents prepared by him....
I've defended cases like this for more than 15 years, and I think the correct way to go about this is to have the Prosecutor lay all his "cards on the table" and show me how he is going to be able to support his case BEFORE I SAY ANYTHING. Above all, get a respected criminal defense lawyer familiar with your town/county. Get in touch if you have any questions.

You can. It was definitely a violation of your rights under the Fourth Amendment of the United States Constitution to be free from unreasonable searches and seizures.
Call me if you like.

I would need more info, but there is a good chance of getting the evidence thrown out based on the little info I have.
My initial consultations are always free, so call me at 732/247/3340 to discuss your case.
Re: re: njs 2c:35-10A(4)
I would have to see all of the evidence before I could give you a definite answer, but in general the police cannot search your car unless they have some definite reason for doing so. From what you wrote it does not sound like they had a definite reason for doing so. I am an attorney who has handled many cases similar to yours in various courts throughout New Jersey in the past. Please contact me to discuss your case in more detail. I never charge for simply talking to a person about their case. Thank you.
Sincerely yours, -Ronald Aronds, Esq.-
