Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey
Obtaining spoused criminal record
I am in the process of filing for
divorce from my husband. He was
convicted of a sex crime against a
child in 1995. When he was tiered in
2000 under megans law he received
paperwork containing the
information about his crime, specifics
of what he was found guilty of. Im
not sure if it was a police report or
something else. I believe it was
delivered to him by the county parole
division. My question is, where can i
obtain a copy of this type of criminal
report, that lists exactally what he
was convicted of, and the acts that
occured?

I disagree with Ms. Bloodsaw. He is on megan's law, so you can just check him out at http://www.state.nj.us/njsp/info/reg_sexoffend.html
Re: Obtaining spoused criminal record
If you are using this information for the grounds for the divorce, you don't need the details of the crime you would need the conviction and his sentence. You may be able to get this from the court, otherwise there is no other way.
