Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey
a offduty cop says he witnessed two guys robbing an elderly man. The guy that got away was the one who did everything but the cop caught the accomplice. At the time of arrest the accomplice said he wasnt involved and he didnt have anything on him that concerned the robbery, can the accomplice get sentenced for something he did not do and that they have no evidence that he was involved with the robbery? can they just go by what the cop said he saw? and also if the man that got robbed isnt showing up to court and they still havent found the other robber?
