Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey
I went to my ex place to pick up our son and to get my alimony payment. While my son waited in the car my ex and I stood on the porch arguing because he refused to pay anymore. I called him some bad names and he said he'd make sure I paid for it. Hours later I get a call from an officer in his town saying he filed a complaint that I scratched him. And I have a warrant. I need to turn myself in and he stated I'll be released on ROR and they'll be a hearing next week. I'm afraid. I didn't do this and now it's his word against mine. He was arrested on abuse 7 years ago when my daughter witnessed him beating me and I was bruised all over, I feel this is him trying to retaliate cause I'm taking him to court for child support now. What recourse do I have? Will I have to pay bail if I turn myself in? I don't know what to expect.

You should call an attorney ASAP and fight the charges. If there is an ROR, there is no bail. Call me at 732/773/2768 to discuss anytime.
