Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey
police report robbery
I was told by one of your lawyers I could get a copy of a police report that has my name listed on it as a suspect in a robbery but I mailed my request to the Elizabeth, NJ Police Dept and was told I could not get this. Whst are my rights?? Can I legally get a copy???

Is is that you are named as a robbery suspect or as a robber in a police report? Accident reports are available to the public. Police reports are only released with the approval of the prosecutor and then only to a defendant's attorney. Perhaps you should give me a call.
