No. It is a disorderly person offense, with a maximum, possible period of imprisonment of six months.

No, it is not a crime (which is what we call felonies in NJ), it is a disorderly persons offense (which is what we call misdemeanors in NJ). Nevertheless, it is still a violation of the criminal code. If you are convicted you will have a criminal record.
