A little less than a $1000. I really don't suggest doing this without an attorney. You don't need a criminal conviction. In addition, your DL will be suspended for 6 to 24 months.

My initial consultations are always free, so call me at 732/247/3340 to discuss your case.

You are entitled to first offender treatment if you have no prior convictions for a drug offense, anywhere in the country. As a first offender you can maintain your not guilty plea and you will be placed on supervisory status wherein you will report to a probation officer for probably six months to a year. With a guilty plea you must lose your New Jersey driving privileges for six to twenty-four months. Do not plead guilty.

There will be various surcharges and assessment which equal six to seven hundred dollars.

You may do all of this without an attorney of your own. I am not telling you that all will go smoothly without an attorney, it probably will but understand that you really do not

know what you are doing.

As a rule, I don't suggest EVER going into Court without your own lawyer. Even if the Judge lets you handle this "pro se" potentially your fines will be higher, your sentence longer, and other BAD things will happen to those who are unrepresented simply becaus ehtye don't fully understand the system and their options.

For criminal cases, most Judges will make you apply for (and pay for) the services of the Public Defender. Why not get "real" representation since you are most likely going to pay anyway???? My fees are very reasonable in cases like the one you are describing.
