Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

Possession of CDS

Ok I was driving arround near my house with two friends and we decided to stop and talk for a moment. All of a sudden a police officer pulls behind me and asks me to step out of the vehicle. I stepped out and he askd what we were doing so i responded. He asked if I had anything I was not supposd to and I told him I had a grinder in the glovebox. He then searched the rest of the vehicle and found empty baggies. There was also a small ammount of Marijuana in the grinder. I am noe being charged with a 2c:35-10A(4) and a 2c;36-2. What can I do?

Re: Possession of CDS

Depending upon if you have any prior criminal record, you can potentially be eligible for a special type of probationary program that could result in a dismissal of the charges against you. However, if you are not eligible for that program, and you are convicted of these charges, you are looking at fines, jail, and a loss of your driver's license. However, based on the facts that you presented in your question, there may even be a possibility of getting the evidence against you suppressed. I am an attorney who has handled many cases similar to yours in various courts in NJ in the past. I would like to talk to you about your case in more detail. Please contact me about this case. I never charge for simply talking to a person about a case. Thank you.

Sincerely yours, -Ronald Aronds, Esq.-
