Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey
possession of cocaine
Hi I was charged with possession of cocaine (not a user this belonged to my exboyfriend who sold crack and stupid me was holding it for him when two cops searched us and found it on me) went to court had the intent to distribute dropped, and as a result I have a possession charge, with 3 years probation(no jail sentence)and a fine.but I'm a little confused. on my background report for a job, it said ''possession of cocaine'' count 1, level not known. This is my first charge, no priors. Can you tell me in nj is this charge I have a felony or misdemenor?

It is a felony. Doesn't sound like you got a great deal here at all.
