Re: pre-indictment conference

2C: 24-4a refers to the Endagering the welfare of a child. I would need more details to tell you the penalties. You may be facing a 2nd degree or a 3rd degree crime. For a 3rd degree, if there is no prior record, the max. time you are looking at is 3-5 years. For a 2nd degree the max time is 5-10 years in jail. Please contact my office for a free phone consultation so we can further discuss. I am a very experienced criminal defense attorney in the State of New Jersey.

Re: pre-indictment conference

Many variables enter into this, including strength of the allegations, willingness of the child or child's family to undergo trial, DNA evidence, etc.

PIC is usually where you get your best offer, however, in a case such as this, things change constantly, depending on all of the variables.

Endangering is either a 2d or 4th degree crime. Other charges could be criminal sexual contact, which might not be a megans law result.
