There is no statute of limitations for paying off court fines. They remain outstanding until you pay them off completely. Worse than that, if you fail to pay your fines most likely a warrant will be issued for your arrest. This would allow any police officer in the whole country to arrest you on the outstanding warrant. You need to check with the court that originally heard your case 8 years ago, find out how much you still owe, and ask them what you need to do to get this paid off.
