Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

Probation- Home Visit

I have been put on 1 year probation for shoplifting at Macys for $750. I contacted the probation office (hudson county) and was told that 2 officers will be coming to my apartment tomorrow morning. why?? are they coming to verify that I live here? will they search my apartment? will I be tested for drugs/alcohol? would they question me about the case? this is my first offense and I dont know what to expect from this home visit. Please advise.

Re: Probation- Home Visit

First off, I can't see why you got probation for this. I assume you didn't have a good attorney? Moving on, they will verify you live there, they may test you and they may search your apartment. What they do is up to them.
