Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey
Prove a harassment charge should be dropped.
I was charged w/ harassment 2 days after I filed a TRO.I called the 2 days noted but other statements in the written complaint by the accusor are false & can't be proved. He filed a TRO 5 weeks after I filed my TRO & did get a FRO because he and his girlfriend purjured themselves. In addition, the accusor and his girlfriend's stories at my FRO hearing & his FRO hearing as well as his written TRO and harassment charges statements all differ. My phone records show that HE called me on the said day & spoke with me 14 min., hung up and called again to speak for 68 min. They also show that I never called at inconvenient times & that the calls are grouped together on 4 different days over 5 mos., no other days, & that he called me on those same days. Finally,I have 20 emails, 35 cards,& IM's that show his obsession with me over our relationship & during our break up (5 mo. ago) including threats to ruin my reputaion and of suicide.I am concerned about this as I look for work in education which has backround checks.I am a student & can't hire a lawyer. With all the above in mind,if I show his complaint & TRO statements don't match & that he sent me a nice email 2 days after he swore I stalked him, is this enough to get charges dropped?

If you can not afford to hire an attorney you should ask the court to assign a public defender to you.
