Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

public intoxication arrest?

Three days ago I went to a bar and unfortunately for me I slipped into a blackout. The next thing I remember was being at a hospital where I was treated for a laceration and slept for a couple of hours before the nurse asked me to leave. While leaving I was given a patient copy which stated what I had been treated for and ETOH intoxication was checked. I'm worried I might have an arrest for public intoxication but i'm not sure how I ascertain that. Does being arrested imply spending time in a jail? What would be the best course of action for me? I'm planning going back to the same bar and also the police station in the area to enquire. Is it possible that I was given a citation by the police and sent to the hospital because I was injured? If so what is the procedure the police follows for giving a citation? I'd be grateful if someone can advice...thanks in advance

Re: public intoxication arrest?

What strikes me is that you are going back to that same bar. You say that you blacked out. You mean you poisoned yourself. You are lucky that you did not go into a coma. Try not killing yourself.

Re: public intoxication arrest?

You are jumping the gun here. You will get something in the mail but if you can't wait, ask the police. If you get a criminal charge, then speak to an attorney.
