Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey
I was pulled over for having the light out over his license plate. The officer asked if I had "anything he shouldn't have" in the car, and further intimidated me into saying yes stating he would "bring the dogs". I handed over a marajuanna pipe. I had no other paraphernalia or substances in the car. I was issued a 2c: 36-2. My first offense. I am just finishing driving school for a CDL license. Implications?

I would need to know more information about why the cop even asked you about anything you may have in your car before I could give a definite answer. From what you wrote, it doesn't sound like he even had any right to interrogate you like that. I would consider filing a motion to dismiss the evidence against you. If you are found guilty you would have a criminal record could losse your driver's license and could have to pay heavy fines. Please contact me for a free consultation to discuss your case in more detail. Thank you.

I would not think that a criminal offense would be reported to motor vehicles unless you lose your license after a conviction for the offense. A conviction is easily avoided. Call me if you like.
