Question about expungement in NJ

I'm currently employed with a private security company, well aware of my prior criminal record. Due to the conviction I'm limited to unarmed work details. Are there any possiblities of expungement for

1 count/merged count of :

2C:5-2*2 Conspiracy, Uncoded Chapter No /2

and the probability of obtaining a gun purchasing permit or carry permit in NJ? Was released from parole in 1998 and completed the bootcamp stablization reintergration program and was told at the time if I enlisted in the military my conviction would be cleared.

Re: Question about expungement in NJ

While I would need to look at the Judgment of Conviction to verify the offense and how it was treated, a criminal conspiracy conviction can be expunged. But the waiting period for expunging an indictable offense is 10 years so you are still early.
