Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey
I recently had an FBI background check done. The background check shows a fingerprint match for an outstanding warrant under an alias name, from 20 years ago (non-criminal driving offense, no injuries or property damage involved). My question: What is the likelihood of any current charge arising out of this as the result of my providing fingerprints and seeking the background check? There are many disclaimers on the background check itself specifying that the information may only be used for the purpose requested (background check), and should be destroyed immediately after it has served that purpose.

Not sure anyone can predict what will happen. Why not just hire a lawyer and take care of it now? Sounds like a big nothing if it is handled the right way.
