Re: record expungment
hi- your best bet is to hire a nj lawyer, who will file the complaint for expungement of the offense and serve the appropriate agencies which must be notified. once the order is granted, it then must also be served on those same agencies. if you have any other questions, feel free to call me at 609 263-0089. good luck !!
record expungment
Expungements in New Jersey are obtained in the Superior Court of New Jersey, in the county where the offense or the arrest occurred. Usually this can all be done by mail, without personal appearance. There are some exceptions to this, depending on circumstances.
Re: record expungment
New Jersey record expungment is a process that involves preparing Court papers and such and is, therefore, usually done by an attorney. It is probable that you can hire a New Jersey attorney to handle your expungment without the need for you to appear here. If you wish to handle it yourself, you will have to begin by researching: 1, the rules for when, and if, expungment of your particular crime(s) is allowed (not all crimes can be expunged and you must wait a certain amount of time depending on the crime), 2, the required paperwork, 3, where to file the paperwork. You can do this by research on the internet and, for basic information about where/how to file, calling the Superior Court.

Re: record expungment
I've read the other answers and only intend to suppliment them. If you call the court ask for the criminal clerk and if you write make it attention "criminal clerk."
It's possible that the New Jersey Court has a form that you can fill out with some very simple instructions that you can read. Ask the criminal clerk. When in doubt fill out the forms and ask to expunge the record. All they can say is 'no.'
