Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

Resolving mutual harassment charges.

If I file harassment charges against someone who's been stalking me and leaving concerning voice msgs and emails... and then he files back cuz hes mad.. but he really has nothing to go on as I have never harassed him in any way...he seems to be grasping at straws and making things up... Yet he hires an attorney to represent him and his attorney calls me to ask if I'd be interested in dropping the charges if he also agreed to drop them and the judge order a no contact order be made up. Should I be concerned for one.. and also if I drop it and go along.. can I then still use the evidence later on if he starts up again? Or is that evidence now null and void?
