Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

restraining order violation

My ex-husband was charged with a FRO violation for trying to communicate with my son(named on the FRO). Due to the significant financial and legal ramifications of these charges I want to know if I am able to ask the court to dismiss these charges. Are there legal ramifications for me if I choose to do so?

Re: restraining order violation

The charge is against your husband and it relates to your son. You don't say how old your son is, or what the situation is with what type of communication was attempted, so I can't give you a definite answer. Your husband will have to go to court on this. You can ask the prosecutor to be allowed to testify or make a statement to the judge, but the judge may not look too kindly on that since your child is the one presumably at risk for the violation of this FRO. If you would like to discuss this in more detail please feel free to contact me. I never charge for simply talking with someone about a case. Thank you.

Sincerely yours, -Ronald Aronds, Esq.-
