Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey
retail security unreasonable detention
I would like to know if being held for 3 and a half hours by macy's security personnel is an unreasonable ammount of time for shoplifting .Also can this unreasonable time be used to show I was coerced into signing untrue statements? Thankyou

Re: retail security unreasonable detention
Three and one half hours detention in the store on a shoplifting charge can be seen as being an unreasonably long time, and an experienced attorney can use this as a basis for trying to get a "confession" retracted. I am an attorney who has handled cases similar to yours many times in the past in New Jersey. I believe that I can provide you a strong legal representation in court on the charge. Please call me at 1-908-272-0111 to discuss the charge against you in more detail. There is never any fee for simply discussing a case. Thank you. I look forward to hearing from you.

Yes and yes. You should allow me to carefully evaluate your situation for the purpose of advising you as to possible defenses.
I would also suggest that you review the shoplifting page on my website.
