Before a matter is considered by the grand jury, an attempt is made to resolve the matter in a

number different ways, including, but not limited to dismissal of the charge, first offender treatment, with and without a guilty plea, reduction of the nature of the charge, etc. It can be a critical part of the case and you MUST have an attorney at the conference. If you can not affford an attorney you must apply for a public defender, although a private lawyer will more likely spend more time on your case. Any lawyer is better than your representing yourself.

Call me if you like.

Do you have an attorney? If you do, ask him your questions and stay of the internet. If you don't, get one. A pre indictiment conference is an opportunity to discuss resolving your charges early on in the proceedings. Sometimes it is good to do this, sometimes it isn't. Only an attorney who knows the prosecutor, the evidence, and who can assess your credibility can tell. If you can afford a private attorney, you must get one. If you can't, be nice to your public defender, he is very busy, and very experienced.

A pre-indictment conference is where an attempt is made to resolve a case by way of a plea bargain before it is sent to the grand jury for an indictment to be considered. If you really did do the thing you are charfged with, this is the best opportunity you will have to get a good plea offer. Please call me to discuss your case in more detail. I never charge for simplyh talking to a person about their case. Thank you.

You need a lawyer, now. Go to the public defender and make your application or hire one ASAP. This is not something that can wait. Most lawyers will work with you on the fees, allow for payments, or hold collateral.
