Re: Sentencing time

The answer would depend upon the amount of money at issue, your prior criminal history (if any), and other factors. I would need to discuss your case in more detail before I could give you a definite answer. Please contact me at your convenience. I never charge for simply talking to a person about their case. Thank you.

Sincerely yours, -Ronald Aronds, Esq.-

Re: Sentencing time

There is no way anyone can answer this question. I assume you have an attorney if you are facing this charge. If your attorney can't answer this, its time to get a new one.

While you may be entitled to probation, I know counties in this state where you would get jail time even though its your first offense.

Re: Sentencing time

There are too many details missing to answer ---not only what was stolen or what is its value but also your past criminal history would enter into the mix. If there were no prior record, then even PTI or probation could be possible. The value of the stolen items or services suggests the grade or degree of the offense and the degree suggests the range of the jail sentence. Fourth degree is maximum 18 months, third degree is 3 to 5 years and so on.
