If you were arrested because a minor girl said you sexually assaulted her and you say you didn't and there is no evidence of it happening how long can they hold you in jail?

If this is a second degree offense, which from what you describe it probably is, then you are faicng up to ten years in prison and lifelong parole after that. You need a lawyer.I am an attorney who has handled many cases similar to yours in various courts throughout New Jersey in the past. Please contact me to discuss your case in more detail. Re: sexual assault
That is a very serious charge, which could mean that the court would impose a high bail due to the risk you would flee rather than take your chances at trial. You are then stuck till you can make bail or until the case comes up for trial. You definitely need to speak with a lawyer. Call me if you would like to discuss it further at 877*688*3879.
Re: sexual assault
A very long time. Sexual assault on a minor is a very serious charge. One person's testimony, if believed by a jury can be enough to convict. The question is what are all of the facts and circumstances of the charge.
