Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

shoplift

My friend was charge in violation of New Jersey 2C:20-11B(20). What should my friend do before go to the court. Thank for the help.

Your friend should definitely call an attorney. Some courts have mandatory jail time for shoplifting, even for a first offense. But, it may be possible to get around it or even beat it. Call me if you would like to discuss it further at 877*688*3879.

The dollar amount taken will determine the seriousness of the charge. This is a criminal violation, so your friend is facing possible jail time. He should speak with a lawyer before going to court. Your friend should hire an attorney, especially if it was hls first offense, in order to avoid a conviction for shoplifting.
