Shopl;ifting in Mooretown, Nj

My brother was arrested in Moorestown, Nj for shoplifting. The amount was $130.00, this is his first offense and when he went to court with his attorney, the prosecutoer would not lower his conviction. What can be his penalty:?

Yeah, Moorestown doesn't mess around. The only thing to do is to go to trial and fight the case. Hopefully, his attorney is up for it.
