Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

Simple Assault

I am being charged by Aunt with simple assault, she says I pushed her down my steps. Should I retain an attorney? I actually went to go outside when she was leaving and hit her with my screen door when I went out, I was angry and sisn't pay attention but certainly didn't push her. She had just threatened to hit my husband.

Re: Simple Assault

If you want to do everything you can to avoid a criminal record along with whatever penalty a judge would impose for this, I would say yes, retain an attorney.

I'd be more than happy to help you with this. My initial consultations are always free, so call me at 732/247/3340 to discuss your case.

Re: Simple Assault

It would seem that your case could be interpreted by the court in two opposing ways. Hire an attorney.

Re: Simple Assault

I would recommend that you retain an attorney so that the law can be explained to you and so that you can have an advocate on your behalf.
